Is it easy to laminate your documents? The answer to that question is YES!… as long as you have the right materials. Once you have done the proper research on a laminator that you want to purchase, figure out how to set it up. Then make sure you know how thick you want your documents to be and get the proper laminating pouches, and finally once you have laminated the document all that is left to do is trim it. Laminating documents isn’t rocket science and if you are working with high volumes, you can save a lot of money by laminating your own documents instead of throwing your money at an overpriced professional company.

Laminated documents are great for protecting your documents, but did you know that another great use for them is to write on them? You can write on laminating pouches with dry erase markers or sharpie markers (be careful with sharpies as they won’t erase). Also if you get laminating pouches that have a matte finish to them you can write on them with a ball point pen. Great for presentations and meetings.

When it comes to choosing how thick you want your laminated document to be, you should have plenty of options to choose from depending on the type of laminator that you are using. The most common laminators will probably only support the thinnest weight, which should be sufficient for most of your typical jobs. 3mil and 5mil is probably the most common thickness. As you start to need a thicker weight you will want to look into getting a laminator that supports 7mil and 10mil thickness.

Laminating pouches rule because they provide protection to valuable documents and other printed material. They are a great way to keep your documents from ripping, tearing, warping, curling and many other unsightly disasters that could happen to your precious documents. Don’t ever underestimate the power of creating a document that is difficult to destroy. If you think that laminating pouches don’t rule than you are making a huge mistake if you work with hard copy documents on a regular basis.
